In 2016, Amanda Wilson and Kristen DiCristina, two former teachers, created Reading Rangers as an after school phonics class to enrich children's early reading skills in a fun and creative way. Reading Rangers is a program that utilizes phonics instruction, emphasizing visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (tactile) learning styles as a way to lay a solid foundation for early readers. Our time together is spent playing games and other activities centered on: letter recognition and letter sounds (sound / symbol relationship), rhyming words, and an introduction to basic CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) word families.
