Summer Camps 2025

Reading Rangers Summer Camp is a fun-filled camp designed to build your child's confidence in phonics before returning to school.  The activities and games are appropriate for children who are rising Pre-K, rising 5/6 program, and rising kindergarten students.   During the camp, we will utilize phonics instruction, emphasizing visual, auditory and kinesthetic (tactile) learning styles as a way to lay a solid foundation for early readers.  The Rising Pre-K Camp will spend the time together playing games and other activities centered on letter recognition and letter sounds.  Our Rising Kindergarten Camp will explore rhyming words and word families (bat, cat, sat, etc.).  Students will participate in activities designed to practice isolating the beginning, middle, and ending sounds in CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words and ultimately blending the sounds to read these words.  We welcome rising 5/6 program or transitional kindergarten students at either camp.  Please note, each camp week has the same instruction and activities. Many students only join one week of camp, but you can certainly do more than one week if you think your child would enjoy it.

Registration: Registration for the summer camps will go live on our website on Thursday, January 28th at 8:00 am.

*Each camp has space for 12 students.  There must be 8 students for a camp to take place.

Summer Camp Refund Policy
Prior to June 1, 2025, a refund (minus processing fees) will be returned to you. After June 1, 2025, a refund will ONLY be issued if your spot can be filled by another student. After July 1, 2025 there will be NO REFUNDS given.

Winter/Spring 2025 Classes

We are excited to offer several 10-week phonics classes ideal for Pre-K or 5/6 program students.  We will utilize phonics instruction, emphasizing visual, auditory and kinesthetic (tactile) learning styles as a way to lay a solid foundation for early readers.  Our time together will be spent playing games and other activities centered on  a review of letter recognition and letter sounds, rhyming words, and an introduction to basic CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) word families. (bat, cat, sat, etc.) In the winter class, we will practice segmenting beginning, middle, and ending sounds in order to blend the sounds to read CVC words.  The winter class is a completely new curriculum from the fall class.  All activities and games are new and are appropriate for children who are in the second half of their Pre-K or 5/6 program school year.

 Registration will go live on our website at 8:00 AM on Friday, November 8th. Please note, if you are interested in a particular class time, we recommend registering as soon as possible to ensure there is space in the requested class. Thank you!
**For students at Christ the King Preschool at Second Ponce, RR teachers will pick the children up in carpool and walk them to the Reading Rangers class at the CWC.
